To verify and improve our models we need your feedback.  There's many ways we could use help if you actually own one:

  • Drive a plan and compare it to the actual battery used.
  • Drive a plan with the browser active, and update your actual battery percentage in the browser.
  • Contribute data via OBD or other methods.

The best way to improve the data is to provide data directly from the car.  Connecting your car not only improves the models, but allows you to follow up directly in the car while driving! We have several ways of doing that, but we need your help to figure out what will work with your car:

  • An OBD reader can be used in concert with a custom app like LeafSpy, or a PID list and Torque Pro.
  • If your manufacturer has an API to access data from the car we can set up access to that API, like we do for Tesla

If you're familiar with either of these, contact me at jason@abetterrouteplanner.com and I'll help figure out what we need to do to connect your car!

Thanks for providing feedback!

I was doing some test comparisons in ABRP of a non stop 3 hour route for XC40 versus Kia e-Niro 64kw and Model 3 SR+. To my surprise according to ABRP the XC40 would arrive at a noticeably higher SoC than either the Kia or the Tesla. The route is mainly highway driving at 110km/h.

I feel like this indicates there is an error in the XC40 alpha model, as both the e-Niro and Model 3 SR+ have a substantially longer EPA and WLTP range than the XC40.

Hi!

I'm totally new in this forum, and have not read up on all introduction threads yet, sorry.

But this could very likely be the thread I'm looking for; I just got my Volvo XC40 and was a bit sad when I saw that ABRP was not in my Play Store. ?

If there is anything I could do to help with development or betatest software, please let me know. ?

Hi @Jason-ABRP,

or anyone else, can you share a bit more information about the model of this particular car.

I would be particularly interested in a github link or something equivalent.

I don't own this car yet, but would be interested to contribute.

1) there are different sizes of batteries available (single vs. dual engine, have different battery sizes)
2) the app right now does not make a difference between single or. dual engine (which affects consumption and range)
3) i would also like to know if the model applies charging speed degradation (the xc40 charges only a very short time with ~150kw, and above 50% SOC, goes down significantly)

Best,
Jan
