Alpha Feedback - Kia Niro

Recommended Posts

To verify and improve our models we need your feedback.  There's many ways we could use help if you actually own one:

  • Drive a plan and compare it to the actual battery used.
  • Drive a plan with the browser active, and update your actual battery percentage in the browser.
  • Contribute data via OBD or other methods.

The best way to improve the data is to provide data directly from the car.  Connecting your car not only improves the models, but allows you to follow up directly in the car while driving! We have several ways of doing that, but we need your help to figure out what will work with your car:

  • An OBD reader can be used in concert with a custom app like LeafSpy, or a PID list and Torque Pro.
  • If your manufacturer has an API to access data from the car we can set up access to that API, like we do for Tesla

If you're familiar with either of these, contact me at jason@abetterrouteplanner.com and I'll help figure out what we need to do to connect your car!

Thanks for providing feedback!

  • Thanks 1

Hi, getting my e-Niro by the end of March. Bought an Autopi dongle that I hope I can use to fetch SoC etc with and send to ABRP

Hi, I configured the upload from Torque to the ABRP folder and I would like to know whether the data does well arrive and is useful for improving the trip planning for e-Niro.

If you go to the planner (A Better Route Planner) and go to "Show Settings > Show More Settings > Live Data > View Live Data", you should see your data while in your car.

If that doesn't work, try running through the setup instructions: "Show Settings > Show More Settings > Live Data > Setup", and make sure you've registered for the planner website "Show Settings > Show More Settings > Synchronize Settings > ABRP Login"

Hi, thanks a lot for the tool, it really gives a good estimation (I'm an Ioniq driver, so I really need to plan carefully).

For a change I had 2 drives this week-end with a brand new Kia e-Niro. On the way back, the wind was blowing, so the results are not to be exploited, but on the way to my destination, conditions were good, and simulating afterwards (adjusting extra weight, temperature, max and reference speed to match trip times ...,) led to a reference consumption of between 165 and 170 Wh / km.

BR, Pierre

Hello

I wanted to contribute  using ABRP and e-niro 64.

All informations are shown in Torque Pro, but nothing on ABRP View live data.

I followed your instructions. If you want I can send you screen captures from Torque and ABRP.

Sorry I missed this, if you're still encountering issues, could you post screenshots? I checked on the torque server and it seems to be running without issue.  I restarted the service though, so perhaps whatever issue you encountered is now resolved.

Hmm, everything seems to be running, and your telemetry entry in the database shows good data.  (I also updated the Niro temperature parameter in the server, it had the Ioniq's PID, copy & paste error!)  Perhaps try forcing a refresh?  Ctrl + F5 on a desktop, force closing and re-opening the "app" version of the website if you have that.
