PDXBob
Description: Level 2 charging waypoint added to break up a long distance between Level 3 chargers (points A and C) backtracks. Routing starts at point A, I added an intermediate L2 charge at point B, Router then returns to point A, then goes to point C, instead of going from A to B to C. Link to Plan: https://abetterrouteplanner.com/?plan_uuid=ee88fa28-c658-46ab-8f85-0c7172b8c78d Replication Steps: Walmart 402 Breaux Bridge [Electrify America] (point A) to 7529 Corporate Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70809 (point B) to Walmart 402 Breaux Bridge [Electrify America] (point A) to Gulfport Premium Outlets [Electrify America] (point C) I entered 88% charge to see what the planner did, in hopes that I would be able to adjust the percentage downward and minimize the time on a slow Level 2 charger. I never got to that point. Remember, the more detail you can provide in your bug report, the faster we can fix it! Bo-ABRP
Thanks for the report! The issue is that "Slower if needed" is a rather blunt tool - it will only slow down if there is no way to get to the next charger from maximum charger SoC to minimum arrival SoC. In your case, you would reach the charger after the Level 2 charger at 18% SoC, whereas your limit is 20%. So I would set the charging time slightly longer to get there without slowing down: https://abetterrouteplanner.com/?plan_uuid=5da7989b-5124-42f1-9bf1-933815386cba
PDXBob
I suggest flagging the situation by highlighting the offending SOC percentages in red, and maintain the current text in red informing the user that a lower speed is necessary to complete that leg of the journey while eliminating the zig zag route plan. Now that I know the cause of the problem, I can avoid it, but it certainly would help even newer users to avoid the same confusion. Thanks for all your work! It is a wonderful tool.
