Waypoints Not Working

Recommended Posts

Description: Planning a route without waypoints seem to work except I want to adjust my charging time at each specific Supercharger and the only way to do that seems to be to add them as Waypoints, but when adding Waypoints, the plan seems to add totally unnecessary charging stops to the plan. I've tried telling it to not use that charger, but it just adds another charger even further out of the way.

Is there a way to adjust charging time at each stop without adding waypoints or is there a way to manipulate waypoints better like on evtripplanner?

You don't go from Cincinnati to Columbus through Dayton. See image.

The original plan link above is from "My position" which will then create a different route for everyone clicking on it 🙂 This can be circumvented using and additional &mypos=1 in the URL; https://abetterrouteplanner.com/?plan_uuid=703e3b39-91cf-48f8-87e5-4daab71051a6&mypos=1 (which will use the position you used for "My position").

With that URL the plan works fine for me (as far as I can see). Are you still having issues with it?

Here is another example.

The first plan below works fine if I don't change my arrival charge at my final waypoint.  If I want to arrive with 60% SOC instead of 10%, it adds an necessary charging stop completely out of the way. See second plan below:

10% SOC at Destination (Final Waypoint) https://abetterrouteplanner.com/?plan_uuid=9bf5843d-b0c3-4638-85fa-11d121395ae7

Actually, that last example is not a bug in itself. When you add a charger which is already in the plan as a waypoint and click the waypoint options, it will propose to hard-set the charging time and power to what was in the plan. If you leave these numbers as they are, ABRP will obey these numbers and not charge longer (or shorter).

Therefore, when you add 60% arrival, it will have to go via Albany to pump up the SoC to meet your arrival SoC 🙂

Here is the plan without forced charging time on Queensbury: https://abetterrouteplanner.com/?plan_uuid=d6263052-b1a6-4144-9787-9d65727a5083

OK, but instead of trying to arrive at the finally destination at 60%, I changed the Queensbury, NY charge to 80%, and now I can arrive at the final destination at 61% and not have to go an hour out of the way and charge in Albany. Should the algo have just done that instead? I suppose there are nuances I'll learn over time.  I really like being able to adjust charging time or arrival/departure soc%.
