Has anyone gotten the ABRP app for Apple Watch to work?

Question

I searched the forums and the web at large, and I found the older threads here. I've tried all of the troubleshooting steps suggested: reinstalling the app, starting a route during "setup," et al.

I am getting the same thing others are, a 0% battery display and "unknown location."  When I reinstall I get the "setup" message, but nothing happens from there.

I have Premium ABRP, the latest-model Apple Watch and iPhone, and all my software and apps are up to date.

This isn't a deal breaker for me, as I think ABRP is a class-leading app with no competitors in its specific class, but the Apple Watch app would certainly complement the package and I see no reason why it shouldn't work as advertised. I'm a vocal supporter of the app in online forums and this isn't a good look.

Hi @Groppler Zorn,

Looking at your account you don't appear to have a vehicle linked for live data. In order for us to display current SoC and position of a vehicle in the watch app the user must link their vehicle for live data. Supported vehicles and live data options can be found here; https://abetterrouteplanner.com/compare/livedata/

Hi Katya,

Thank you for the timely response. I am in a Volvo C40 twin motor, and based on the link you provided, my car is not supported for live data, it that correct?

So, no options for the watch app working?

Unfortunately not at the moment no. We'd definitely want to support the Volvo models but so far we haven't come across any solution for it.

Hi @Groppler Zorn,

Actually, if you'd be interested in testing out the ABRP Premium Live Data connection (via SmartCar) I could have you added as a tester. Got word just this evening that it might be a viable solution. Let me know if you're up for it!

Great! I've added you as a tester and you should now be able to try linking your Volvo via SmartCar. The Live data option will be available as 'ABRP Premium Connection'. instructions for linking a vehicle can be found in this section of our FAQ: https://www.iternio.com/faq?questionId=3a09ec83-b85f-4834-b194-30bb3ae55904&appDefId=14c92d28-031e-7910-c9a8-a670011e062d

Let us know how it goes, I'd suggest we continue this conversation via email. I could either send you a message to the email you have registered with here on the forum or you could reach out to us via the support options in the app. Which would you prefer?

Email is fine. I'll have a look at the SmartCar Live data option.
