Driving chart respect last charger charge?

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if this is really a good idea or maybe just confusing a driver:

Normally, the driving graph shows the actual charge and the planned charge for the trip. If you did an "over charge", so charging more than planned, you still keep the planned graph but have a higher actial charge plotted.

Wouldn't it be usefull to replan (or maybe just paint a 2nd plot) with the real charge when leaving a charger? Maybe same when charging fewer than planned.

We should offer a little red "Replan" button when the actual vs planned charge differs by more than 2 %points.  If that's not showing up, we've got a bug somewhere.  I just checked it out in our development sandbox, and it seems to be working.  I assume you're setting "Use Live Data" when planning (clears out the entries for available data so that live data from the car can be used) Or selecting OK on the "Use current car data (Charge %, Temp, Health %) and time for planning?" popup?

Ok, that's what "replan" should do. But then I have this bug report in the "bug" forum. The popup was asking to use a new 110km/h consuption, so I didn't except it to use other charges but just other consumption based on the current drive.

Usually I don't use live data for planning, most time I set charge to 100%.

Ah, if you're driving with live data we calibrate to your actual driving conditions.  It takes a bit of data, and you should see the "Estimated consumption at 110km/h" on the driving details.  If that's available and you take the replan, it'll ask if you want to use the newly calibrated consumption.

For me, it's about 90%, most of the time the calibrated consumption is spot on, accounting for wind, temperature, all the various aspects of the drive.  The 10% is when it hasn't had enough time to calibrate (takes a few minutes at relatively steady speed, or longer if you've got a lot of variation in your drive).  I generally give it a sanity check to ensure the new calibrated consumption makes sense, then use it if it does.
