Trying to plan a route over the Gotthard Pass

I am trying to plan a route over the Gotthard Pass (not the Gotthard Tunnel) and whatever I do, it never routes via the pass. I have waypoints set in Hospenthal, Albergo San Gotthardo, Motto Bartolo and ABPR routes to the first waypoints, makes a U-turn to go throught the tunnel to Airolo, goes back to Motto Bartolo and makes a U-turn again and bypasses Albergo San Gotthardo completely.

I've tried different cars, I've tried different speeds but it never goes via the pass. Is this a bug or can I do something else to massage the route?

Hi

Gotthardpass is closed during winter time. This might be the reason, since the apps use live traffic (and probably also road closure) information.

Oh. So it is impossible to plan ahead then. That is a real limitation.

It would be nice then to have an option to disregard live traffic or if there are fixed time closures to be able to set the time and date for planning.
