OBD Dongel & Enyaq iV with ABRP 4.1.10 not found

Recommended Posts

Good morning

I deleted yesterday the connection between ABRP and my iCar Pro Dongle and connected it to OBD Auto Doctor App.

Firstly I had to choose Android-Vlink from the list of Bluetooth devices and secondly I had to enter a code to connect (0000, 1234).

When connecting to ABRP, I could only choose IOS-Vlink without any Code. Is that the difference between normal Bluetooth broadcast (Android-Vlink) and BLE (IOS-Vlink)?

Anyways, also trying to wake up the Dongle with OBD Auto Doctor doesn't work. So to me, the iCar Pro Dongle is cumbersome and not recommended.

Bye

I could use some help. I got my Enyaq IV80 yesterday and have an OBD MX+ dongle. The dongel connects via they're own app so thats nice, but when I search for my car in the ABRP app it doesn't show up.

Does someone have a suggestion what I can do? Perhaps a 3-party app to use so ABRP vinds the dongle or maybe a setting I have to change in the OBDlink app?

A little update from my side, I got the vLinker MC+ yesterday. Installation is realy easy, connection with ABRP works well.
When I enter the car the dongle is in sleepmodus, when I start the ABRP app it wakes up and make a connection. I haven't yet tested it with any longer drive, but it looks fine to me.

Hello

I also got my MC+. After pressing the button on the Dongle I could select it (name ....iOS.....) and the connection was established, working fine, also showing green bars besides SOC in Android Auto.

If I reenter the vehicle, the Dongle is dark, but wakes up after Android Auto is launched and/or ABRP App is activated. LEDs on the Dongle started blinking.

But I do not get any data. No green bars, no SOC.

The Dongle is also only appearing in the OBD device list again, if I press the button.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

I bought OBDLink CX Dongle which you recommend but still have issues.

I got a Skoda Enyaq iv80 which should be supported.

Procedure: No other connections to the dongle - but the dongle was found on the scan of my Android Samsung S9 phone, Android 10 Version, ABRP Version 4.1.13 Pro Version

Then plugged in the OBD Dongle BLE compatible, started the car. OBD-Dongle is ready for connection. Green Power light and Blue one blinking

NO OTHER APPS connected to the Dongle.

Opened ABRP. Car->Settings->OBD-Connection. OBD Dongle was found. Pressed the Dongle Named there.

First two (of three) Connection Points went to green or passed.

But, as soon as it reaches the 3rd Point (last), it fails to access car data and provides me the option to send fault report, which I did twice today 13.01.2022 16:50 GMT+1.

Actually I am clueless on what I can try else. Seems that the dongle is not the problem as it got found and connected to but reading out data between ABRP APP and Dongle fails.

Any hint on how I can get this to work?

I can see your report and it seems your car does not like one of the commands we use. We recently adjusted the PID commands to get more data like vehicle speed and battery temp and so on. So those that already have a connection are not affected, but those that try to set it up will see the error you mentioned. We could confirm though, that the commands work on other MEB based vehicles though, so not really sure what is wrong here.

Could any of the Enyaq user here that have a succesful connection please do the following so we can debug this:

1. establish a connection to the car via OBD with abrp

2. go to settings, scroll down to support & feedback

3. click contact support and in the next popup click YES (you want to upload feedback data so we can analyze) and open with your favorite mail client, it will prefill the mail with data from the app

4. remove the mail adress and enter samuel@iternio.com, then i'll get it faster and can have a look if that is an issue on every Enyaq or just some

Only because Apple is not compatible with normal Bluetooth, all Android users needs to suffer now.

That is not true, You can always use one of the other app solutions with non BLE BT support, there are some out there that support the Enyaq. They all work equally as good.

@Samuel-ABRP

I sent you data.

BTW.: I did not get any connection the second time after initial connection. The Dongle (MC+) gets activated after reentering the vehicle, LEDs flashes blue and red, but ABRP did not get any connection or data.

I have to delete connection and reconnect it with pressing the button for pairing again.

Yes, I saw that. But I'm not talking about replugging in the first place, but only wake-up after sleep when reentering the car. If the Dongle is changing its address even after wake-up without unplugging it, it's useless to have an automatic wake up feature.

Fact is, after wake-up, without unplugging, ABRP does not get any data, despite ABRP/AA do wake up the Dongle after standby.

Got your mail, thanks, but could not see any data logged. Did you wait until the app showed telemetry data is available? Also please make sure to click yes when it asks to send feedback. Also you need an internet connection, else the call to our backend might fail.

Ok got some data now and the property was definitely available. So @BavariaR could you please try again? On the ID3 i tested it failed at first as well, had to try a bit and go into drive mode and stuff like that. Please check if that helps. We will try to be less strict for some properties in the future but that requires an app update and will not be available immediately.
