Does ABRP have any connection to e-Golf (2019) via an API or similar. It seems that ABRP lacks information on how much the battery is charged and how much is left when I am driving. Grateful for your help.

Driving Model:

Option 1 - Analytical - Provide the mathematical parameters to define the car model (See this blog post for details).

Option 2 - Data-Driven - Perform driving test at multiple speeds, and record efficiency or power draw from the pack.

Option 3 - Direct Car Connection - Provide method of receiving telemetry directly from the car via OBD, API, or other means.

Charging Model:

Charge Curve - Provide a link to a chart or video detailing the charge power over time or by State of Charge %

I wrote an app to get some data from the eGolf (and some other cars) so if you have an OBD dongle with ELM327 chip like the OBDLink LX i can send you the app.

I would be interested to see this app - is the source code available? More generally, is there any sort of technical documentation (e.g. an Interface Description Document) available which details how to feed live telemetry data from a car into ABRP?

Thanks!

Hi @Kjellz,

We're aware that the beta version of EVNotify includes support for the VW E-Golf as @Vrabetz mentions. As soon as EVNotify has confirmed that support is no longer in beta we'll happily add the option to link the E-Golf (and others) via EVNotify.

(Until then, it is still possible to choose a car model which does have EVNotify supported, link it and then switch the selected car model for the saved vehicle to the still unsupported model).

You may always check all supported vehicle models and connection options by visiting: https://abetterrouteplanner.com/compare/livedata

Is the workaround still supposed to work?

I did the following:

- in ABRP app (on Android), selected my car (e-Golf) and under "Car model" selected "Volkswagen ID.3 Pro 58kWh: Heatpump (alpha)"

- in EVNotify app, changed my car type to "VW ID.3"

- on EVNotify web page, select ABRP under Settings/Integrations and choose "grant" - this opens a webpage where I can select ABRP vehicle and grant the permission. It all ends on a web page on app.evnotify.de/integrations with JSON message {"message": "Successfully connected. That's it. Your data will now be transfered automatically."}

However, there is no change in the ABRP app - when I go to the veghicle settings, I still only see the selection of available life data methods...

What am I missing?

Hi @mkaut,

Sorry for the delayed reply, I've been out of office.

Yes it is still supposed to work as far as we are aware.
I've just checked the vehicles on your account and you do have a successfully linked copy of an e-Golf, via EVNotify.

Should you be experiencing any further issues you may submit a report at our official bug tracker here: abrp.upvoty.com
