Weird route guidance in cities

Question

Hi,

is it only me who thinks that the route guidance is a bit interesting sometimes? Especially in cities were I know the common routes (which are usually also chosen by Apple or Google Maps) I get kind of interesting routes with ABRP. Using really small streets etc. So I think the algorithm for the route is a bit different?

It's the same in the rural area where I live, it often takes dirt tracks. Technically they may have the same speed limit as an adjacent, wider road for example, but of course you will be slower anyway and you don't want to take such roads unless necessary. The problem might be the underlying OpenStreetMap data though.
