Peter M
I would like to override the trip planner's default route to include a specific (scenic) highway. ABRP recognizes the beginning and end points, but calculates a different route than the one I'd like to take. Is there anyway override ABRP's default routing? Samuel-ABRP
You can add additional waypoints where you want to drive, which will force the route to include that location.
Peter M
Thank you - adding additional waypoints worked.
Samuel-ABRP
The latest version also offers guide points. It's similar to waypoints but only used to force a route to a specific point. In navigation itself that guide point is not shown where normal waypoints are shown (as marker and distance to values).
Peter M
Thank you - guide points seem to be exactly what I'm looking for. I'm using version 4.0.44 and don't see anything about guide points in the release notes (or the UI) - what is the version that offers them? Also - I'm very new to ABRP and have found a few YouTube "how-to" videos - but no reference guide. Does one exist? If not, what is the best way to learn the capabilities of this wonderful tool? Samuel-ABRP
Not sure if we published that in the app yet, but it is available in the web version. So the App should follow soon as well if not there already. We do not have an official guide but you get used to it pretty quick if you understand which values are relevant for EVs. In general you just have to set arrival and departure soc and adjust the ref consumption a bit if it does not work very well for you. The easiest way is to use live data as that takes care of the consumption part. It even sets the departure soc for you. So with live data you just need to set the arrival soc. Peter M
Thank you again for your quick reply. Just a comment that I was using the web ui version 4.04..44 and not see anything about setting guide points.
Bill N
I do find it quite surprising that there still isn’t even a quick start guide. I’m frequently coming across people who are using ABRP incorrectly because there is no guide.
Pierre Deziel
What we would also need, if we go pass a way point, we would need to overide it after few miles, so the gps would go to the next way point. Now we need to stop and delete the way point.
