Trip logging for BMW i3

Question

I'm an iOS user and a BMW i3 owner and I'd like to contribute to the data for my trips.

I have read discussion about trying to log the data and can see it's probably a no go on iOS, but I cannot work out whether this does work on Android with Torque Pro? I already own a Vgate iCar Pro BLE OBD2 reader, and am happy to purchase a cheap Android phone to be able to log the data if this works.

Is it possible to log the required data using Torque Pro?

At the moment we don't have a way to pull data from the i3 at all, though we would absolutely welcome help figuring out a way.  The two avenues we've explored are OBD and the BMW API.  The API has been kind of a dead end (too slow, and doesn't update while driving).

OBD is an unknown.  It's definitely possible (there are apps out there which provide this data, like BimmerLink), but we don't have access to an i3 to reverse engineer the OBD traffic.

Hello Jason,

I don't know if the following information is helpful. But is very simply to get just by PHP details from any BMW i3.

I don't have an idea if this is helpfully for your idea. The whole stuff about this html-5 pages is discussed at goingelectric.de

If you need any help for translation or something else, please feel free to contact me.
