Possible Bugs?

Recommended Posts

1. The 'Re-Plan' Blue Icon is constantly spinning on occasions and there is no way to exit out of this situation, except to re-boot the infotainment system.

2. Unable to plan trips whilst the vehicle is moving. You have to stop the vehicle and then plan the trip.

3. The volume of the navigation is somehow linked to the radio volume. If you turn up the navigation it also then turns up the radio volume. However, if you have the radio on mute, the navigation sound is still audible.

Happy to 'Beta' test any updates or fixes to help the development for the Polestar 2.

Hi @WatfordPolestar2 & @meberhardt,

1. Does sound like a bug. Could you tell us more about when this occurs? The button itself may serve different purposes depending on which 'step' of the planning you're in. ie, if you've just tweaked settings, added waypoints and clicked it it'll plan for the first time. Once the plan is created you may click it to start navigation/driving mode, drive. And once you're in 'driving mode' you may click it to re-plan, however ABRP may also re-plan automatically if you deviate from the planned route.

2. This is not a bug. We're not allowed to let you go into settings while driving for safety reasons. However, you can be logged in on a different device and (you or your passenger can) create a new plan there. The re-plan button will turn gray once there is a more recently created plan on your account than the one you've got loaded on the app. You may then click the re-plan button to have the latest plan loaded on in your Polestar.

3. Our intention is that the navigation sound is handled separately from any radio/music sound and that if there's any other sound source playing it'll get temporarily muted while the navigation instructions are played, then resumed. We'll look into what we'll need to change!

Hi

With regards to number 3, you can 'hint' what the purpose of the audio is:-

https://source.android.com/devices/audio/attributes

Might be as simple as hinting USAGE_ASSISTANCE_NAVIGATION_GUIDANCE

More here:-

https://source.android.com/devices/automotive/audio

Whether this works yet given that 'navigation' apps are currently not technically permitted on AAOS will be interesting.

Regards,

Steve

For #1 I experienced this twice after planning and starting a drive - seems like it was unable to either determine my position or unable to get the route - the only solution was to reset the infotainment system to stop the ABRP app.

I see there is an update already available today - any news on what that might fix?  It is not clear in the notes.

It would be nice to get a comment of the administrator-team on the problem described in the video posted above by Polestar Driver.

(ABRP not able to plan route) Is there any hope on a bug fix in the near future?

I have posted the same problem under "support" and "bugs" and never got a response from the administrators (ABRP freezes in Polestar 2)

I am a new owner and first time owning an EV. I love this car but the ABRP app in the car is unusable unless I am doing something wrong. It's very sluggish to the point I give up. I want to love this app but right now not at all. I hope it gets an update that will fix it.
