No it's not unfortunately. You can always update speed limits at openstreetmap and we will pull the latest updates after a few days.

Ahh gotcha, thanks. I will mess around and see if I can update the speed limits.

Hi,

I'm struggling to find some definitive answers/guidance on the icons etc. that are shown, in particular around the SOC in the bottom left of the screen.

I'm running ABRP on AA connected via a dongle to the car' OBD port, so the SOC is (should be) live, although it's never exactly the same as the car's belief, but usually only 1-2% different. What I don;t understand is the connection icons. I'm getting the colours, green probably means connected and all good etc. but sometimes I get a green Bluetooth icon, like this (from a recent trip to Gibraltar):

image.thumb.jpeg.b96124b22e45d63d20e0a7e99399cb4d.jpeg

Other times, I get what looks like a phone signal strength icon such as this (photo pinched off the forum)

image.jpeg.85d323f21ee84bd706dd9a032ffe08c4.jpeg

What is the difference? What do they mean? Is there a consolidated guide to all of the icons somewhere on the site?

Thanks.

Hi John

In case of the ABRP connection to the car is directly by BLE Bluetooth, ABRP shows a Bluetooth icon. If the Bluetooth connection is establish, the icon gets green, in other case red.

If ABRP gets live data via ABRP Webserver from other sources like Torque Pro, the icon is a phone signal strength icon. The icon is green if a connection is established.

It’s not unusal that the Cockpit SOC is not exactly the same value than the car internal SOC, this depends on the car model. In most cases ABRP uses the internal car SOC, which can be a little bit higher for lower SOCs than the cockpit SOC.

A little explanation of some icons is written here, scroll to the bottom.

Hello!
Bug? When I start abrp in Android Auto, it doesn't work for me to search for routes, nor choose the favorite until I open the application on the phone, then the application allows me to do everything that until now
And the news of Android auto what are they? Because for me it is still useless not being able to select a charger on the route, being able to choose several WAZE-type routes, the icon to show the chargers in the area on the phone is spectacular, but the fact that it does not appear in Android Auto seems like an error to me. ABRP in Android Auto has a lot of potential, but more functions are still missing than if they appear on the phone
Another thing ABRP offers me very illogical routes, for example on a highway it tells me to exit at an exit and re-enter suddenly instead of continuing on the same road!

This is unfortunately a behavior which was introduced with android 11 or 12, don't remember. You can either start app before connecting to AA or you can long click the ABRP app icon, click on app info, scroll down to the setting called overlay on other apps or similar and enable the toggle button. We are also working on a solution for that but it's quite complex so it might take some more time. If you encounter any issues please use the contact/support/report bug functionality from the app at the bottom of settings.

We already mentioned this here a few times but looks like it got lost through all the other information. AA is pretty restrictive for 3rd party apps. We will enhance the features like clicking on waypoints and so eventually when they are available in the AA SDK.

In the previous version it worked fine, it is in this new version that this is happening to me, I connect the cable, I start ABRP in android auto and it loads but if I click on search or favorites it stays loading, or if I disconnect the phone because it stops loading the car and then connect to continue the route I was doing stays "blocked" until I open ABRP on the mobile and then it continues and shows % battery and estimate
The AA restrictions is a problem, but having a button with the list of chargers that is in the mobile version is not possible? Or a WAZE-style alternate route button? Yesterday on a 60 km route he proposed very strange detours that from experience I know end up causing problems or make you leave the road and re-enter the same exit, and sometimes I would like to tell you that I want other routes, how could I do on the phone but of course driving it is dangerous to do this operation with the phone in hand
By the way, if someone sees my English weird... I use google translator

Please use the contact functionality from the app for problems and feature requests. This forum is only for community discussion. Please report all the issues with "report bug" and propose features with "suggestions" in "Support & Feedback" at bottom of settings.

If it worked in the previous version, but not anymore with 4.3.0 it's most likely a different issue, but we need your bug report for that as we get additional information on the issue tracker like that.

If you are interested in what is possible with AA right now you can read this document:
https://developer.android.com/training/cars/Android for Cars Jetpack Library design guidelines.pdf

Most of the cooler features just came up in 1.3.0-beta1 though, which we are currently adapting to, so not all of the features are already available as a public release version.

The nearby chargers were introduced in 4.3.0 recently and will also be added to AA / CP soon.

Really like the latest update with pinned addresses in the search box and scrollable under where you want to go. they do keep disappearing and I have to resave them. It'll be nice once it's all fleshed out!

Coolwalk implementation is very nice, have used it on both a large screen (Bolt) and landscape-y long screen (Audi Q4). Moving more and more into being my daily navigation app. Just offering kudos, thanks for all the hard work!

Hello some questions about the Android Auto integrstion

I found sone notes somewhere in Internet that ABRP can read the SoC via Andriod Auto API without ODB dongle or Trionity, is that true for the general or only valid for some car models like Polestar that are running Android Automotive?

I've never seen s request to grant permission to read car data (SoC) compared that with App EVMap that requires that permission to tead SoC via Android-Auto API

I also try to grant that permission maually with the relevant Android settings but neither the relevant Dialog lists ABRP App nor the permission setting related to ABRP gives a  option for this

Do i need to change something {Guide?) in ABRP or does it run just out the box box without that permission granted and using premium account with live data activated?

How can I see that ABRP gets the SoC from car via Android Auto API?

My Car and phones

Opel Mokka-e, 09/2021 shouldc be same  Multimedia Plattform as Peugeot 208e and some more models from PSA/Stellantis eg Citroen/DS/Vauxhall

Android 13 on Samung A52,

Android 20 on Moto G8 Plus

@Distelpilz if ABRP can get SOC or other information through Android Auto alone it would be a huge help, but from what I have read (and I hope I am wrong!) this information is only available via the full Android Automotive. Could this capability vary between Android Auto-using cars?

No car so far offers SoC via AA, as the manufacturers need to patch their cars and they just don't do it. If you check with Evmap you will probably not see a real SoC value. If you do please let us know the car model.

Please prove that with a Photo. I have an Opel myself and I don't see any soc.

We checked several models and none provided any data so we did not bother to add it. But if manufacturers start providing the data we will of course re-evaluate.

Thought I would like the new alternative routing options cos the UX is really nice, but whatever it is on the backend is not the best. Had routed around a wonky broken station only to have it offered as an alternative after first charging session. But because I couldn't SEE the new station it was routing me to, I'm typing this stuck at a station waiting for it to free up

I tried restricting stall number, telling the app to avoid and nothing worked.

Charging network isn't quite to the point of “F it, I'll drive to the next one”

Especially in South Carolina for my Americans...

@Distelpilz Did this work on your Opel? I don't see the images. I tried it on my Hyundai Ionic 2019 right now, and it didn't work (perhaps unsurprisingly, since the software is old).

currently it is nit working i'm shure that I saw that in early February, but EVmap was updated and Andriod Auto activated the Coolwalk Dashboard so i only get speed, direction etc but no SoC or available Range

Ok new here but i have used ABRP Pro for quite a few long trips now. These are my findings.

- The navigation is not perfect, i actually prefer to use google maps for short trips. I think this has to do with the age of the maps ? Sometimes i do get weird navigation tips that add unneeded time and km to the route.

- The ODB connection works perfect and i love the continous adjustments on arrival SOC, but i would like to set the additional weight of the car. Because it makes a difference if you go on holiday with a loaded car or you just are travelling a long distance alone.

- Integration with speed camera's and emercency services is not possible ? (I love that part from Flitsmeister). I know that it is illegal in some countrys, but maybe then turn it off when crossing the border ?

- Can you add a usage average on the navigation screen in realtime ? Like last 5 minutes or last minute ?

- ABRP can be really long " wrong"  about the SOC. For example if i arrive with 20% and turn the car off and do a quickcharge until 80%. When leaving the SOC on ABRP is still 20% and sometimes for a really long time. Even with OBD activated.

_ is Offline maps supported ?
