EViking
Thanks for your great work. ABRP is a super helpful tool for both new and experienced EV owners, and this is how all manufacturers should make their in-car route planners. Regarding the different Audi e-tron quattro models, I feel that the list- and the reference consumption needs to be updated. You should also show wheel options, which makes a big difference. The same goes for all other cars in the database, like eg. Taycan.. It's a lot of work and hard to make it 100% correct, however it is important. Wider wheels always lead to higher consumption. Larger diameter, not so much. Here are my suggestions for the e-tron based on ownership, a lot of testing and consuming all available information on the topic: e-tron 50 quattro with 19" aero wheels: 235 Wh/km e-tron 50 quattro (mirrorless) with 19" aero wheels: 230 Wh/km e-tron 50 quattro with 20" wheels: 240 Wh/km e-tron 50 quattro (mirrorless) with 20" wheels: 235 Wh/km e-tron 50 quattro with 21/22" wheels: 255 Wh/km e-tron 50 quattro (mirrorless) 21/22" wheels: 250 Wh/km e-tron 50 quattro Sportback with 19" aero wheels: 225 Wh/km e-tron 50 quattro Sportback (mirrorless) with 19" aero wheels: 220 Wh/km e-tron 50 quattro Sportback: 230 Wh/km with 20" wheels e-tron 50 quattro Sportback (mirrorless) with 20" wheels : 225 Wh/km e-tron 50 quattro Sportback with 21/22" wheels: 245 Wh/km e-tron 50 quattro Sportback (mirrorless) with 21/22" wheels: 240 Wh/km e-tron 55 quattro with 19" aero wheels: 235 Wh/km e-tron 55 quattro (mirrorless) with 19" aero wheels: 230 Wh/km e-tron 55 quattro with 20" wheels: 240 Wh/km e-tron 55 quattro (mirrorless) with 20" wheels: 235 Wh/km e-tron 55 quattro with 21/22" wheels: 255 Wh/km e-tron 55 quattro (mirrorless) with 21/22" wheels: 250 Wh/km e-tron 55 quattro Sportback with 19" aero wheels: 225 Wh/km e-tron 55 quattro Sportback (mirrorless) with 19" aero wheels: 220 Wh/km e-tron 55 quattro Sportback with 20" wheels: 230 Wh/km e-tron 55 quattro Sportback (mirrorless) with 20" wheels: 225 Wh/km e-tron 55 quattro Sportback with 21/22" wheels: 245 Wh/km e-tron 55 quattro Sportback (mirrorless) with 21/22" wheels : 240 Wh/km e-tron 60 S (ALPHA) with 20" wheels: 275 Wh/km e-tron 60 S (ALPHA) (mirrorless) with 20" wheels: 270 Wh/km e-tron 60 S (ALPHA) with 21" wheels: 275 Wh/km e-tron 60 S (ALPHA) (mirrorless) with 21" wheels: 270 Wh/km e-tron 60 S Sportback (ALPHA) with 20" wheels: 265 Wh/km e-tron 60 S Sportback (ALPHA) (mirrorless) with 20" wheels: 260 Wh/km e-tron 60 S Sportback (ALPHA) with 21" wheels: 265 Wh/km e-tron 60 S Sportback (ALPHA) (mirrorless) with 21" wheels : 260 Wh/kmi Edited October 13, 2020 by EViking
eenzo295
Did they even acknowledge your message? It is important indeed! About the e-Tron 60 thought. Is that the S model? Edited October 28, 2020 by eenzo295
Skyhawk
I have the US version E-tron...so I think that's what you call 55 quatro with 20 inch wheels and roof rack bars on top I've been playing around with this a bit lately. Posted a question here on this forum trying to get a better understanding that is so far unanswered???? e-tron 55 quattro with 20" wheels: 240 Wh/km 240Wh/km = 386.24 Wh/mile anyway, how did you arrive at these numbers? I've been doing some simple tests...waiting for a better opportunity to do an extended out and back run and was thwarted earlier today by too much slow traffic, but so far I've done a few 4-5 mile runs set at 65 MPH...so far I've been seeing numbers like 325Wh/mi to 344 Wh/mi = roughly 201 to 214Wh/km
Ecurb
I suspect the developers are reluctant to use data that is not from authoritative sources (no offense). The variation in your values within each of the car classes you list is relatively small. Besides, if someone wants to use a different consumption value than what ABRP offers, it is quick and easy to to enter it. Just my thoughts. Skyhawk
probably true.....it's exactly my assumption too. They are likely more interested in data coming form folks using the ODB and live recording it along with probably tons of other variables to qualify it. Regardless, the developers seem to be silent on the topic of reference consumption. I posted a question several days ago about how to determine what number to plug in for this variable, and trying to gain a better understanding of how it's used.....crickets.... This is a 2020 Tesla Model Y Long Range. I get just under 280 Wh/mile unless I have my bike rack and two mountain bikes on the back in which case it takes 320 Wh per mile. If I attach my utility trailer with a golf cart on it, it then takes 625 Wh per mile! Edited August 8, 2021 by Ecurb

If so, how do you find the planning results compared to whatever the default number is for your car? I suppose that using the consumption at the specified speed (65MPH) on a flat road with no extra weight in the car, etc....is what's meant to be plugged in there .....unless the program is relying on that number being fudged in some way to cover some other shortcoming in the assumptions used for planning. Ecurb
Yes, I enter the appropriate number, from my test runs, into ABRP when I am planning a trip. I just got back from a long road trip and the planning results were accurate. My measured figure was 280 and the default number was 277, so very little difference. I think I am going to run some routes in ABRP and see how significantly it changes the routing results.
Sofia-ABRP
Hi @EViking, @eenzo295, @Ecurb and @Skyhawk, Sorry for the late reply. There's a lot of activity in the forums and sometimes a post might get lost. If you have a pressing question I'd suggest sending us an email using the app. Open the menu by clicking the ABRP button in the top left corner of the screen and click the "Tell us what you think!" button. That way we can more easily see your account settings and give you better feedback. Thank you for providing this data about the Audi e-tron. Since the vehicle is already in alpha, the best way to make our models more accurate is by connecting to send live data. Read more about improving our models in this blog post: However, the Audi e-tron is currently somewhat limited in what data it is able to send to third party apps. Have a look at this page to see what sort of data we can find out from your vehicle: https://abetterrouteplanner.com/compare/livedata/. I will make sure to forward the data you've provided so that we may evaluate it. /Sofia
