Welcome, Jason. It's due to the very slow cells which are fast enough in Kona's 400V 64 kWh pack, but not when used in a 320V 38-39 kWh pack. But I guess you know that ?

Yeah, I had a feeling that's what they did for cost savings.

I'm getting my car at the end of the month, what's the best way I can help with gathering data ?

Using and OBD reader ? If so, do we know of one that does work with the 38k version ? I know most users of the 28k use the ABRP transmitter app but since the 38k can't access the hidden menu anymore, no way to install the APK (yet).

Use EVnotify in combination with a dongle. Note: need to run EVnotify on an Android phone, to be able to have it running in the background and still actively read out the dongle and upload the data to internet.

Issue with ABRP transmitter is that each firmware update of the car you need to figure out how to access the hidden options and install/update abrptransmitter

I have a IONIQ FaceLift since December and I am a long term user of ABRP.

Now I would like to use the Live data functionality. Additionally I could give charging logs to improve ABRP accuracy. I can see the live data in the ABRP popup window, the numbers seem to be correct, only the car model is wrong.

For sending the live data to ABRP, I am using OBD2 + EVNotify with Kona PIDs on my mobile. Soon there will be a fix of EVNotify adding IONIQ 38kWh support.
Please give me feedback if I can support improving ABRP with my car.

On the recent car data update:
The Ioniq 38 kWh's reference consumption gets liftet from 144 to 180 Wh/km? That's insane and far from the truth! Okay, I have it in it's older 28kWh form, yet I'm getting through ABRP auto calibration a long time equivalent of 133 Wh/km (and the 28kWh stays at your preset value of 144Wh/km). The 38kWh Ioniq is very very similar to the 28kWh version, ABRP's new 180Wh/km figure reference consumption is WAY off reality ? I'm driving on all seasons Michelin (CrossClimate+) tires at 2.8 bar btw.

Hi @edgarw,

While we do have a safety buffer of 10% added on top of the values we calculate, you're absolutely right! We reviewed the numbers and it turned out something odd was going on with the modelling tools. We've had the ref cons adjusted down to 157 while we work out this "bug". Thank you for pointing this out!

/Katya
