I was attempting to pay for Premium ABRP via GPay (Google Pay) tonight and got an unusual error back from the GPay interface:
Uh oh, something went wrong
Unexpected developer error, please try again later.
Capture of the error message (Redacted):
This issue is repeatable, and happened each time with a number of retries. One interesting thing to note that may or may not be related to the problem, I'm using a GMail filter address as my actual ABRP account/signup email, but it is not exactly the same as my GPay user ID. Here's what I mean by that:
ABRP Account Email Example: gmailuser+abrp@example.com vs. gmailuser@example.com -- where example.com is actually gmail.com and "gmailuser" is my actual GMail account (in case the forum gets scraped for email addresses by spammers or other abusers),
In case you think this is somehow broken or wrong, my email address -- both with and without the +filter -- work perfectly. The "+" attribute in Gmail (and many other mail system) addresses has been an internet RFC standard for years. See this article if you are still skeptical: https://gmail.googleblog.com/2008/03/2-hidden-ways-to-get-more-from-your.html
Anyway, any thoughts or ideas as to why the GPay is failing?
