Thanks @Katya-ABRP! Totally clear why this strategy was chosen. Let us know when P8 users can test it for their P8. I have published some apps myself and it is possible to run closed tests, so if you need my mail-address to publish a closed test, please let me know ?

Hi @Mheel,

Sorry to disappoint but this is our regular Android app and not the app developed for Polestar. The Polestar app is offered by 'Polestar Performance AB' like the rest of Android (Automotive) apps available for the Polestar 2, while our regular Android app is offered by us 'Iternio Planning AB'.

At the moment we do not offer a way to connect to the Volvo XC40 P8, but we're of course open to investigate any possibilities you might suggest.

Are you able to implement the connection to the car that you use in the ”Polestar” app in the regular app?

I was able to alloy the app the ”car info”.

Meanwhile, it seems the ABRP xc40 (alpha) settings have charge speed limited to 50kw charging rate. Is this accurate? The car charges at up to 150kw so the charge times I’ve been getting are pessimistic.

Hi @Mheel,

As this isn't the Android Automotive app we won't be able to read data from the car even if you choose to allow us to do so. It is up to Volvo if they want the Android Automotive app or not in their cars.

Hello ABRP!

I got this answer from Volvo when I asked about ABRP app in their cars like Polestar.

It is up to ABRP to launch their app in all cars with Google Automotive Services. Polestar did a special implementation with ABRP before there was full support for charging apps, but since there now is full support for those kinds of apps we cannot create a similar solution.

Hi @Laine,

Yes, we are planning a general Google Play version of our Automotive app, however, it has turned out to require a major rewrite of the app internals so it has taken more time than we initially thought. We cannot promise a time for when this can be released.

The "special implementation" we did with Polestar is the version currently used in the Polestar 2.
