Fatalix 0
Hey, could you develop a app for the new Android Automotive, which runs already on the new Polestar 2 and will run on other cars in the future. Would be so cool to have it directly as an app in the car.

It is really good to know that a resonable navigation is available soon.

MGA1600 0
I’m very keen to have ABRP (for Android Automotive) installed in my brand new Volvo P8 anywhere in it the foreseeable future...? Is there any chance on that?
nikagl 0
If you need beta testers, let us know. Volvo XC40 P8 owner here 👍
Fatalix 0
Ford will also join Google Automotive now! @Katya (ABRP) Is there any development on this topic? Can you say something about ABRP for Android Automotive?
Jason-ABRP 180
I'll just say that we've been prototyping Android Automotive, and it looks really awesome on large format displays in cars. When we're allowed to say more, I'm sure you'll hear about it! 2

Would be fantastic to have ABRP on a full screen 🙂

Jswinkels 1
@Katya-ABRP I noticed that ABRP has been released for Polestar 2. Great news! Any word on progress for Volvo XC40 P8. Can’t wait.
nikagl 0
Only on Polestar? Didn't hear that yet - why would you publish against only one car if there's just two cars to choose from?
nikagl 0
Found it. So weird; why only publish it against a polestar? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.polestar.abrp.production.android
Juancho 0
And what about the Volvo XC40 P8? It use almost the same platform as the Polestar 2 included the Android Automotive system. Only the screen in the P8 is a bit smaller then the Polestar. Can you guys from ABRP give us a update about the same app for the XC40 P8? Thanks!
Katya-ABRP 52
Hi @Fatalix, @Andy57, @Galatian, @Klaus R., @Michschmitt, @AshOfIce, @Gantenbein, @keskri, @mar-schmidt, @Roeg, @MGA1600, @nikagl, @Juancho! As of today we can announce that ABRP is available on the Polestar 2's Android Automotive-based infotainment system. We have had to keep the lid on regarding progress with development and it's super exciting to finally be able to release it. Some of you ask why it is only being released to the Polestar 2 and the reason for this is that third-party navigation apps for Android Automotive are still difficult (read impossible) to have approved by Google. However, the car manufacturers can themselves decide what apps they allow on their system. This is what Polestar did and we really hope this release will attract other manufacturers attention as we, just like you would love to see ABRP on Android Automotive in more vehicle models. Here's Polestar's press release: https://www.polestar.com/us/press/press-release/polestar-2-now-features-abrp-app /Katya

It the app for the XC40 P8 already done? Because the screen size is a bit different from the Polestar 2 so i can understand the app need a bit of tweaking for the Volvo 🙂 Edited March 30 by Juancho
