SS-Leaf

no route plans while logged on

Question

Hi, I hope this is the correct forum to share this issue.

I've been using ABRP for a few months, and thought  knew what I was doing....

Today, I can not get ABRP to plan a route for me on either:

  • the website, using Chrome 83.0.4103.116 and Windows 10 Pro version 2004
  • the Android app, version 4.0.13

It was working fine a few days ago...

To reproduce using website with Chrome on Win 10:

  1. logoff ABRP
  2. close Chrome
  3. open Chrome "New incognito window"
  4. navigate to https://abetterrouteplanner.com/
  5. allow site to access location, and accept cookie message
  6. logon using email and PWD
  7. click reset to clear planning locations
  8. select 2 locations from recent drop down list - red pointers are shown on the map with a dotted blue line connecting them
  9. click the blue icon to plan a route - a route is mapped using 90% initial SOC and I'm guessing default options
  10. click the car icon to show my saved vehicle - vehicle details are shown, including most recent 59% SOC
  11. click back - displays the previous route details
  12. click back - displays the planning locations
  13. click reset, and select the same 2 locations as step 8 - red pointers are shown on the map with a dotted blue line connecting them (same as before)
  14. click the blue icon to plan a route - the blue circle spins for a few seconds and stops, but the map is not refreshed and no route is displayed

Any suggestions on how to further troubleshoot or workaround without losing my saved live data?

Thanks,

-Steve

do you have the same issue in normal mode? (not incognito).

Yes, I have the same issue when logged in using:

- Mobile App on Android

- Website from Chrome (tried 2 different laptops)

- Website from Chrome Incognito

- Website from MS Edge

It seems to be OK until I login, AND click the car icon to show my live data.

Thanks,

-Steve

I believe I experienced this same bug today. I was able to plan a route no problem before linking my live car data in (I have a 2020 Bolt and I'm sending data via webserver upload in Torque Pro) but trying to revise the plan later in the car partway through the trip while waiting for a charge resulted in the "planner server error" message via the app or web interface.

Force logging out the website and refreshing did allow me to plan routes again, but only with manually entered car info instead of live data.

I submitted a bug report via both interfaces when prompted, but didn't know what other information might be helpful at the time so the reports are default. After reading this thread, the described problem definitely matches my experience.

@siberx - For the 2020 Bolt the Capacity PID is broken and provides very strange readings, could you remove that from logging in Torque and try the planning again with fresh data?  We are experimenting with using the kWh Charged parameter to calibrate SoH without the capacity reading.

@SS-Leaf - I took a look at your live data and it seems to be mostly fine, although there's a few oddball 0-values (Degradation seems to be at 100% or 0% SoH, and SoC is at 0%).  Though perhaps the most recent reading from LeafSpy was with the car off and it wasn't responding correctly?  Could you take a screenshot of your live data details with the car on so I can help figure out what's going on?  If you'd prefer not to share those details publicly, you can send me an email at jason@abetterrouteplanner.com

Thanks Jason.  I'm travelling without the Leaf for the next few days.  I'll get screenshots of the Leaf Spy data and share them here when I get back home.

I appreciate your help.

@Jason (ABRP) All seems to be working OK now.  My wife took the Leaf out for a L2 charge yesterday, and when I picked it up and started LeafSpy and ABRP, I was able to plan routes.  This morning I'm also able to plan routes using the web site.  Dunno why I had problems before, and why all is OK now, but many thanks!

Very good! For future reference, if you run into this again you can go and override all of those settings manually until you can get updated Live Data from the car.  You can turn all the Live Data settings off in bulk by untoggling "Automatic Settings", although this will also turn off Live Weather and Traffic if you are subscribed to Premium.
