I'd like to be able to change the map heading. Right now the map is always facing north, would like to be able change that to facing the driving direction. Also, when driving, it would be usefull if the map would auto-zoom in or out (zoom in when driving slow/before turns and zoom out when driving faster).

In addition: when using ABRP in my car's headunit's browser (Hyundai Ioniq), the map is displayed in landscape. I can't see (and thus use) the zoom in/out buttons. Is there a way to fix that?

Some of this is definitely doable, and I'll add it to my to-do list (like fixing the buttons).  Just so I can test if my changes are actually improving things, can you go to this website and report what your Inner Window Size is? https://www.rapidtables.com/web/tools/window-size.html

One thing we kind of want to avoid is doing all of the real-time navigation ourselves.  There are other services that do this much better (Google Maps, Waze, etc), so we'd rather spend our fairly limited development time on the actual route planning and live data plan following.  However, I see the pickle you're in with ABRP in your head unit, as you don't have a lot of room to run both.  I'll give it some attention and see what we can do to make it better.

Thanks Jason. I'll measure what my window size is later and report through the linked website. Indeed the auto-zoom functionality would be nice to have, but if I am able to use the zoom-buttons I guess that would be sufficient (for me at least). Pinching to zoom in/out does work, but alas not too well.

Being able to change the map heading would however be a great plus.

Interestingly, we tried this a while back, but it caused the in-car browser in the Model S to lag a lot.  Once they finally upgrade the browser, we might try it again, as using the rotatable version of the map brings a lot of other really nice features as well.

Perhaps it would be useful to have a 'Navigate here' button on the charger popup that sends you to your preferred navigation app? Do something like recommended here https://medium.com/@colinlord/opening-native-map-apps-from-the-mobile-browser-afd66fbbb8a4

That's actually on my to-do list already!

I want a button which will start navigation mode and do all the things (Offer to connect live data, start driving mode, send the route to your app of choice, etc).

For now, we already have that function, if you go to "Share > Share to App" it'll send it to your preferred maps app.
