Miguel Jamous
Description: Support for Apple CarPlay Use Case: Would be nice to see the application to appear on Apple CarPlay. Waze and other Navigation software till now doesn't support Electric cars and we don't see the charging points. This should be a enormous advantage for this app, even against builtin GPS from manufactures which are the moments always outdated!!! Thanks Miguel Edited January 27, 2020 by Miguel Jamous
petermona
I also agree that it would be nice if it support apple carplay. Apple makes innovative products so their old devices gets outdated. Apple is also accused and proven guilty for make older iPhones and iPads slow when they launch new iphones or iPads so people buy them. this kind of selling strategy is unbelievable. I hate them because of this. I also hate their programs. I searched how to reset a forgotten apple id password and it is like resetting my credit card password. It does not need to be that complicated.

Abu Dhabi Dude
I’m sure Bo is aware of this, but whilst researching something else I discovered that CarPlay now supports 2nd displays. It’s all handled “in-house” by iOS so it would be available only on cars which support it and not on others. You could set it to have next turning pop up on the HUD, or the map to display on the instrument panel (dashboard), or even have the SOC, distance etc panel to show on the dashboard. There’s a lot of cool stuff now in CarPlay.
Eiernacken5
Hey guys, this might become more realistic with the new iOS update. They notes say, that other map services are now supported on Apple CarPlay !
Va2li
Yes CarPlay would be the greatest feature! It is supported by more and more cars these days and we'd like to use this feature. Please built that in!
Marc O.
For me, Carplay is the most desired functionality for ABRP right now, and the only thing that keeps me from paying for a Premium membership that has just been rolled out. Kenneth K
I have just subscribed for Premium membership - and hope you will work even harder on enabling Apple CarPlay. Thanks.
LarsO
From ABRP on an iPhone, you can export to Apple Maps. When in the car, open Maps in CarPlay and the route to at least the next planned charging point will appear.

What’s wrong? I obtain the map centered on my home, no the itinerary. I tried on iPhone XS max and iPadpro Thanks for your help best regards

Wiley
+1 for CarPlay. I'm planning to buy a subscription to ABRP because I really like your service, but it's not really functional in the car for me without CarPlay support. I don't want to have to play with my phone while driving....
Jason-ABRP
Unfortunately, while we've done some work on our side to get prototype support for CarPlay (and Android Auto), we've hit a bit of a wall in trying to get approval (or even a response of any kind) from Apple and Google on our requests to be able to even run the app. We've been going through the official channels, but have been met with silence so far. mikewaz
Please keep attempting to work with Apple and Google on getting into CarPlay and Android Auto. That feature would be the cherry on top of an already rather awesome sundae. Thanks for all your work on a wonderful app!

I think the iOS 14 launch has given you the answer of why you struggled to get CarPlay approval. They have built an EV Route planning function into Apple Maps. That may have something to do with it. Jason-ABRP
We saw the same, it's certainly interesting! Anything that brings more EV support into the main stream makes us happy and excited for the future!

It will never be as comprehensive as your app but I wonder if what they want is for developers to use the Apple API with Apple mapping software driving it? However, I’d guess that means using Apple’s own EV modelling for consumption etc. Haven’t seen any of it in action yet as it’s not yet included in the developer beta. But again, not sure of it would be able to compete with your version as (for me anyway) you’ve got the iPace modelled pretty much perfectly.
